Patna, Aug 22 (Reporter) At least 16 people were killed and nine others injured in separate road accidents in different districts in Bihar, police said on Thursday. According to reports pouring in here from different districts six people were killed in Bhojpur, three in Supaul, two in Begusarai and one each in Kishanganj, Lakhisarai, Purnia, Nalanda and Sheikhpura. A report from Ara said that five members of a family were killed in a road accident near Bibiganj in Chapra district. All the victims, who belonged to Rupaspur police station area of Patna were returning after offering special prayer at Vindhyachal. Three people were also injured in this accident. In another road accident in Bhojpur district, a 10-year-old boy was run over and killed by a speeding truck in Koshihan village under Chandi police station area. A report from Supaul said that two children met their watery grave while taking a bath in river Bihul under Nirmali police station area. A 6-year-old girl was crushed to death by a speeding bus near Parasarama Chowk under Raghopur police station area in the district. An employee of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Sumit Singh alias Jaisingh was killed and his wife was injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding vehicle on national highway 31 near Sanaha petrol pump. One person was hit by a vehicle and killed under the Bahadurganj police station area. According to a report from Lakhisarai a motorcycle rider was hit by a bus and was killed on the spot whereas his wife sustained injury near Khemtarini Sthan under Suryagarh police station area. A woman was killed and four others sustained injury in a collision between an auto rickshaw and a truck under Jalalgarh police station area in Purnia district. According to a report from Rajgir, one person was killed in a road accident near Sheikhpura turning under Chand police station area in the district.
