30 workers injured after boiler explosion at factory in Maha

Mumbai, Aug 24 (Reporter) As many as 30 workers were injured in a boiler explosion at a steel factory in MIDC area in Jalna city of Maharashtra here on Saturday afternoon, police said. According to police, the explosion at Gaj Kesari Steel Mill, which occurred around noon, resulted in molten iron falling on workers. The injured workers were admitted to a private Om hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city. The condition of five injured people is critical, while the condition of others is stable and they are being treated, the police added. The factory manufactures steel bars from scrap. “Around 30 workers sustained burn injuries after a boiling metal liquid fell upon them when metal was being added to the boiler. So far, no casualties have been reported, but three to four workers are critical and under treatment.
