Mumbai Aug 24 (Reporter) On Saturday afternoon, an explosion occurred at a steel factory in the MIDC area of Maharashtra's Jalna district, injuring over 30 people, some gravely, police said.
According to police, the explosion at Gaj Kesari Steel Mill, which occurred around noon, resulted in molten iron falling on workers.
The injured workers were admitted to a private Om hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city.
The condition of five injured people is critical, while the condition of others is stable and they are being treated, the police added.
The factory manufactures steel bars from scrap.
“Around 30 workers sustained burn injuries after a boiling metal liquid fell upon them when metal was being added to the boiler. So far, no casualties have been reported, but three to four workers are critical and under treatment.
