Patna, May 13 (Reporter) An estimated 45.23 per cent electorate exercised their franchise till 3 PM during fourth phase Lok Sabha election to five seats in Bihar on Monday. Five Lok Sabha seats where electorate are exercising their franchise are Darbhanga, Ujiarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai and Munger. Sources at the office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said 45.23 per cent electorate exercised their franchise till 3 PM. Maximum 47.61 per cent polling was recorded in Darbhanga followed by 47.24 in Samastipur, 46 in Ujiarpur, 43.55 in Munger and 42.57 percent in Begusarai, sources informed. Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai, former JD(U) president Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh are among star candidates whose fate would be sealed by voters in EVMs. In all 55 candidates including four females are in fray in five seats in fourth phase of Lok Sabha election. Altogether 95,83,662 electorate, including 50,49,656 males, 45, 33, 813 females and 193 third genders are eligible to exercising their franchise to decide fate of 55 candidates, including Union Ministers Giriraj Singh and Nityanand Rai.Electorate are exercising their franchise at 9, 447 booths and 32 of them are managed by women only while 43 are model booths. Highest number of 13 candidates are contesting in Ujiarpur while lowest 8 candidates are in fray. In 2019 Lok Sabha election, BJP won 17 seats, JD(U) 16 seats, LJP 6 seats, enabling NDA to bag 39 of 40 seats in Bihar. On the other hand, Congress had bagged only one seat while other constituents of Grand Alliance including RJD had drawn blank. All constituents of Grand Alliance are contesting as constituents of INDIA bloc in ongoing Lok Sabha election...////...
