6 killed in Mumbai-Agra highway accident

Mumbai, April 30 (Reporter) Six persons died on the spot in Maharashtra while 18 others were seriously injured when a bus in which they were traveling collided with a truck near Chandwad village of Nashik district on the Mumbai-Agra highway on Tuesday. The injured have been admitted to a sub-district hospital of Chandwad where condition of eight passengers are stated to be serious, said the Highway police. Traffic on the Mumbai-Agra highway was closed for few hours as the rescue operation was underway. According to the information, the bus was coming from Jalgaon towards Vasai near Mumbai. The truck was trying to overtake bus when the collision took place. "The impact was so severe that the entire bus was blown away by to the collision," reported eyewitness account said.
