Chennai, July 20 (Reporter) A day after flight operations were disrupted due to global MS cloud outage, normalcy was restored at the Chennai Airport and flight services of all airlines started operating on time on Saturday.
Airport sources said there is unlikely any cancellation or delay anymore and all flight services would be fully restored by this evening.
As the Microsft has fixed the outage problem, passengers were issued boarding passes through computers by various airlines and baggage screening process also were normal.
Meanwhile, in an update, the Civil Aviation Ministry said "since 3 AM, airline systems across airports have started working normally".
In the update, posted in his social media handle by Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu, the Ministry said flight operations are going smoothly now.
"There is a backlog because of disruptions yesterday, and it is getting cleared gradually", it said.
"By noon today, we expect all issues will be resolved", the update said.
"We are constantly monitoring the operations at our airports and also with the airlines ensuring travelling readjustments and refunds are taken care of", it said.
"We thank you for your patience", it added.
Yesterday due to the cloud outage, flight operations were crippled. Several flights to various destinations, both arrival and departure, were cancelled, causing hardship to the passengers.
As the boarding passes were issued manually (hand written) by the authorities of various airlines, long queues were seen in front of the boarding pass counters. Even baggage screening was done manually and a large number of passengers were stranded in the airport...////...
