Hyderabad, Feb 10 (Reporter) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught an Assistant Engineer of Panchayat Raj, Zilla Parishad, Warangal district, and his private assistant while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The accused officer (AO-1), Kankanala Ramesh, along with his Private Assistant (AO-2), Guguloth Saraiah, were caught red-handed by the ACB Warangal Unit at AO-1’s private office, located beside D-Mart in Hanumakonda.
Following Kankanala's instructions, Guguloth allegedly demanded and accepted the bribe from the complainant in exchange for processing the building permission application of the complainant’s wife. The application sought approval from KUDA for constructing a house in Kuntapally village, Sangem Mandal.
The bribe amount of Rs 10,000 was recovered from the possession of Guguloth.
The complainant’s details have been withheld for security reasons, according to an ACB statement.
Both the accused officers were arrested and produced before the Special Court for SPE & ACB Cases-cum-III Additional District & Sessions Judge in Warangal...////...
