After joining BJP, Vijayadharani resigns as Cong MLA, Speaker accepts it

Chennai, Feb 25 (Reporter) A day after quitting the Congress and joining the BJP, three-time MLA Ms S.Vijayadharani on Sunday resigned as Legislator and it was accepted by Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker M.Appavu. Ms Vijayadharani WAS elected to the Assembly from Vilavancode in the southern Kanniyakumari district for the third time in 2021 polls after her victories from the same Constituency in 2011 and 2016, resigned her MLA post today. She has tendered her resignation to Mr Appavu, who has accepted it, official sources said. Her resignation comes in the backdrop of Congress sacking her from the party, soon after joining the BJP in New Delhi on Saturday, and the TNCC, in a swift move, handing over a letter to the Speaker seeking action against her under the Anti-defection law. Ms Vijayadharani said she joined the BJP as she has not received due recognition in the Congress for the last few years...////...
