AIADMK MLAs evicted for protest in Assembly seeking justice to Varsity sexual assault victim

Chennai, Jan 6 (Reporter) The main opposition AIADMK MLAs were on Monday evacuated from the Tamil Nadu Assembly for staging a protest to draw the government's attention demanding justice to the victim of the alleged sexual assault at the state-run Anna university campus. Wearing blackbadges and holding placards, witht he slogans 'Who is that SIR' to whom the arrested accused spoke as allegedly mentioned by the victim, they raised slogans demanding justice to the girl student. As they disrupted the proceedings, Speaker M Appavu ordered their eviction following which the AIADMK members madea noisy exit from the House. Later, talking to reporters outsidethe Assembly premises, AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi KPalaniswami said the Governor did not boycotted the address but the ruling DMK deliberately prevented him. He said the Tamil Nadu Assembly has consistently followed this tradition, and there has been no change in it. However, the ruling government's deliberate action prevented the Governor from delivering his customary address to the House, he charged He also alleged that since the DMK government came to power, the customary Governor’s address has effectively turned into the 'Speaker’s address'. On protest against Anna university sexual assault incident, Mr Palanswami said the AIADMK was not politicising the issue, but was demanding justice for victim. He also questioned the silence of Chief Minister M K Stalin and Depitu Chief Miniser Udhayanidhi Stalin on the issue. Meanwhile, the issue was expected to generate more heat in the ongoing Assembly session as alliance parry members of the ruling DMK have submitted letters to the Speaker seeking to move a Special Calling Attention Motion on the incident...////...
