Mumbai, Dec 27 (Reporter) The death of Dr. Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of the country and a world-renowned economist who took the revolutionary decision to take a developing country like India on the path of globalization, privatization and liberalization and made that decision a huge success, is a great loss to the political, social and economic sectors of the country, said State Deputy Chief and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday.
In his condolence message Pawar said, ' Dr Manmohan Singh laid the foundation for making India an economic superpower. In the face of every global recession that has occurred in the last several decades, India's economy has stood firm and stood strong, and most of the credit for this is due to the far-sighted decisions taken by Dr. Singh as the country's Finance Minister and Prime Minister. '
Dr. Singh worked successfully as the country's Finance Minister and Prime Minister in extremely adverse circumstances. With the help of his in-depth study of the global economy, his ability to take far-sighted decisions and his passion for the welfare of the common people of the country, he brought the Indian economy back on track from difficult times.
