Patna, Oct 17 (Reporter) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Thursday strongly demanded for projecting its President Ajit Pawar as CM face of Mahayuti alliance in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly election, saying it would further boost the prospect of alliance for winning more seats. NCP National media coordinator and working committee member of the party Naveen Kumar, in a statement said that Pawar was a senior leader who was a Deputy Chief Minister on five occasions and was elected to Maharashtra assembly for nine terms, was most suitable candidate to be projected as CM face of Mahayuti alliance in upcoming state assembly election. If Pawar was projected as CM face of Mahayuti alliance, it would boost the prospect further for winning more seats and increasing votes share of the alliance, he pointed out. "Pawar has long experience and his projection as CM face of Mahayuti alliance will boost the morale of the workers of all its constituents", Kumar said, adding that leaders of other allies of the alliance-- Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde had been CMs and now Pawar should be projected as CM face of Mahayuti. Earlier, it was expected that Election Commission would opt for holding elections for assembly seats in naxal hit areas on a separate date but its decision to go for single phase election in Maharashtra, was reflection of confidence of the commission in Mahayuti government in the state.
