Lucknow, Apr 16 (Reporter) Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday hit back at Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav over his remarks on Enforcement Directorate (ED) and said that he should understand that the agency is not a grocery shop and 140 crore trust it. Taking to X, the Deputy CM wrote, "When Rahul Gandhi is in trouble, his number one courtier, Akhilesh Yadav, is the first to lose his temper. He should understand that ED is not a grocery shop. 140 crore people trust it, except those whose hands have been involved in corruption." He said, "The entire country knows that Congress is the mother of corruption. Opposing the action of ED does not mean running away from the truth but protecting corruption. It may be noted that the SP chief, who is on a two-day visit to Bhubaneswar, on Wednesday said that with the Income Tax Department in place, there is no justification behind ED and such a department should be abolished. He said that a department like ED should be abolished. "There are many institutions, including IT, to look into economic crime cases," he said. Akhilesh said that Congress had created ED. "Today, Congress is also facing problems because of ED. When the ED law was made by the Congress government, many parties had opposed it at that time. We had received information that the leaders who were against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra could not escape from ED, CBI and Income Tax. When people are paying GST, there is a department like Income Tax, then what is the need for ED," he said...////...
