All arrangements made for polling in AP on May 13: CEO

Vijayawada, May 12 (Reporter) Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral officer, Mukesh Kumar Meena said on Sunday that all arrangements have been made for Monday's polling for general and Assembly elections. Elections are being held in 25 Lok Sabha constituencies and 175 Assembly segments in AP on May 13. He said that there are a total of 4,14,01,887 voters in AP, of which 2,03,39,851 are men and 2,10,58,615 women while 3,421 transgenders. The CEO said that total 46,389 polling stations have been set up in the state for tomorrow's polling, of which 12,438 polling stations were identified as problematic for which required security has been made. He stated that a webcasting facility has been provided to 31,385 polling stations and heavy security has been provided. He further said that in all, 454 candidates are contesting in 25 Lok Sabha constituencies and 2,387 candidates in 175 Assembly constituencies. Meena said that over 1.60 lakh electronic voting machines (EVMs) have been deployed for elections across the state.
