Vijayawada, Jan 16 (Reporter) Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu has expressed confidence that the State will move on progressive path and wealth can be created.
Giving a powerpoint presentation at the State Secretariat at Amaravati near here on the growth rate in the State, the Chief Minister promised that he will certainly maintain the people's trust and is implementing plans with an aim of achieving 15 per cent growth rate. "We have set a target of achieving $42,000 per capita income by 2047," he added.
Regretting that all the systems got totally destroyed in the past five years and the State is thrown into doldrums, Mr Chandrababu said that in the name of three capitals Amaravati is totally buried while the Polavaram, which is the lifeline of the people of the State too has been completely neglected. The situation was so bad that no one, including the natives of Andhra Pradesh too, dared to invest in the State, he remarked and said that the people have given the responsibility to him to take the State towards development from destruction.
Making it clear that generating wealth is possible only with development, the Chief Minister said that if the revenue of the State grows it can be utilised for the welfare programmes as a result of which poverty can be eliminated. "This is the economic policy I strongly believe in. When I mentioned IT in 1995 people made fun of me but now the same IT is taking people to higher levels," he said.
Pointing out that with the Vision-2020 that he has introduced Telangana is now in number one position in per capita income, he said that the Telugus are the highest earning section across the globe now. "Now I am laying the foundation for second generation economic reforms. Open sky policy too has been adopted by me for airports and also laid stone for Shamshabad airport," the Chief Minister recalled.
The State Government is moving ahead with Swarnandhra Vision-2047 and set a target of becoming a $2.4 trillion economic system, the Chief Minister said and stated that the growth rate has gone up by 4.03 per cent than last year. As the growth rate has fallen in the past five years the living standards of the people have suffered a lot, he added.
"We are now moving ahead to take the Telugus to number one position in the world by implementing the 10 policies in the Swarnandhra Vision-2047. Zero poverty is the first policy and the P-4 is aimed at achieving this," Mr Chandrababu said. Pointing out the pensions being paid to various kinds of beneficiaries, he announced that the WhatsApp governance is being launched on January 18. Various kinds of corruption-free service will be extended to the people, he added.
The State has received over Rs 4 lakh cr investments after the TDP-led NDA came to power, the Chief Minister said and stated that the Amaravati works too are progressing well besides speeding up the Polavaram project works. Announcing that the Godavari and the Pennar rivers will be interlinked by that time the Polavaram is complete, the State is now focussing on making farming more profitable.
"I am also keen on improving basic amenities in the State and we are taking the Swatchandhra slogan well to the people. Roads have been constructed in the past six months and all those who are visiting their native places for Sankranti are extremely happy on moving on the pothole-free roads," Mr Chandrababu Naidu maintained...////...
