Bengaluru, May 21 (Reporter) Altium, a global leader in electronics design systems, is making a long-term commitment to India, aiming to extend its investments well beyond 2030. "The company is not looking for six months of investments in India but beyond 2030," stated Pelle Chiari, Altium General Manager and Head of Sales (India), in a press conference here on Tuesday. This move includes substantial investments in new technical and sales personnel and the opening of premium office space in the city's heart. Altium's expansion aligns with India's "Make in India" initiative, aiming to enhance the country's impact on the global electronics market. "Altium is fully committed to helping establish India at the center of the electronics industry," Chiari stated. "By creating a dedicated team that covers all aspects of customer engagement from Pre-Sales to Sales and Marketing and Customer Support, we can better address local market needs. This is an important step forward for Altium as it continues to grow and expand its reach into new markets," he added. India's electronics sector is projected to become a $300 billion industry by 2026. Altium’s investment will reinforce its relationship with India’s electronics industry, offering solutions that foster innovation, expedite production, and reduce costs. The new physical presence will enable Altium to collaborate closely with its growing customer base in India, helping the industry adopt more efficient and sustainable practices while accelerating innovation cycles. Additionally, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with local data protection regulations, Altium plans to host its Altium 365 cloud platform in the region by the second half of 2024. Beyond its digital and physical presence, Altium is committed to supporting the long-term growth of India's electronics industry by investing in and educating the next generation of engineers. Through its Altium Education programs, including the Altium Educator Center, the Altium Student Lab, and the Altium Women’s Scholarship Program, Altium aims to develop a professionally trained workforce of electronic designers ready for the Indian market.
