Chennai, Dec 25 (Reporter) Senior BJP Leader, party's political and poll strategist and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Tamil Nadu for two days on December 27, 28. While reports on Wednesday indicated that his visit was more or less confirmed, sources in the Tamil Nadu BJP Unit said an official confirmation is awaited from the Party High Command. Mr Amit Shah's visit is expected to have far-reaching implications for the state's BJP unit and its allies. During his visit he was expected to have a closed door with senior BJP leaders and state office-bearers including State Unit Chief K Annamalai to discuss the prevailing political situation in the state and about the ground level preparations for the 2026 Assembly elections. Apart from the ongoing organisational elections of the party, the meeting was also expected to chalk out strategies for the 2026 Assembly polls. There is also possibility of Mr Amit Shah holding discussions with some alliance party leaders about the polls, which is about 16-17 months away. Mr Amit Shah is also expected to attend the first death anniversary of DMDK Founder and actor- politician Vijayakanth in the city on December 28 and an invitation was extended to the BJP also. The DMK has also invited leaders of various parties, including DMK President and Chief Minister M K STalin, Opposition AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami and other leaders. On December 28, Mr Amit Shah is expected visit Tiruvannamalai, a town steeped in spiritual significance, where he will inaugurate the newly constructed BJP District Headquarters office to strengthen the party's presence in the region. Mr Shah, accompanied by senior BJP functionaries, will then proceed to the world famous Lord Arunachaleswarar Temple, where he would offer darshan and special prayers...////...
