Belagavi, May 3 (Reporter) On the final day of nomination filings, Rahul Gandhi's submission from Raebareli saw Union Home Minister Amit Shah taking a jibe at the Congress scion, foretelling his defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Uttar Pradesh constituency.
Addressing a rally in Hukkeri town, Shah ridiculed the repeated attempts of launching what he termed "Rahulyaan" by Sonia Gandhi, asserting that Rahul Gandhi's bid from Raebareli would culminate in a defeat against BJP's Dinesh Pratap Singh.
Shah emphasised BJP's confidence in Singh's victory, contrasting it with the failures of Rahul's political ventures. "Rahul Baba's" candidacy from Raebareli was placed alongside his contest from Wayanad in Kerala.
Shah also drew comparisons between Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting Modi's unblemished record of service without taking leave for 23 years, juxtaposed against the Congress scion's purported frequent vacations.
Shah positioned BJP as the party of integrity against the backdrop of Congress party's alleged involvement in scams.
Following the rally, Shah visited Mahalaxmi Temple in Kolhapur to offer prayers.
Rahul Gandhi's nomination filing in Raebareli marked the conclusion of submissions for the seat. His filing was accompanied by the presence of Congress stalwarts including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Robert Vadra.
Rahul Gandhi's electoral bid in Raebareli pits him against three-time MLC Dinesh Pratap Singh, who defected from Congress. As a sitting MP from Wayanad, Rahul seeks re-election from the constituency that went to polls on April 26.
The electoral saga continues as Amethi and Raebareli gear up for the fifth phase of voting on May 20. Rahul Gandhi's historical connection with Amethi, a seat he represented for fifteen years, adds an intriguing dimension to the unfolding electoral narrative...////...
