Guwahati, Jan 19 (Reporter) Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the 'Swachh Teerth Abhiyan' at the historic Mahabhairava Temple in Tezpur on Friday.
It was noted that Since January 14, India and Assam have been participating in the Swachh Teerth Abhiyan program, a nationwide initiative.
As part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan-Urban initiative under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, a massive cleanliness drive is underway for the cleanliness of temples and religious places in the country during this period.
Shah also prayed for the well-being of the people of the state while serving at the Mahabhairav temple.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Ashok Singhal, Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Bora, Member of Parliament Pallab Lochan Das, several MLAs, and other dignitaries attended the cleanliness drive.
Then, he participated in the cultural program organised by Tezpur Central University.
