AP: Air India launches daily direct flights connecting Vijayawada & Bengaluru

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Sep 1 (Reporter) Air India Express commenced daily direct flights on Vijayawada-Bengaluru route on Sunday. The airline deployed a new 176-seater Boeing 737-8 aircraft, featuring tail art inspired by the traditional Kalamkari style, to operate this maiden flight, connecting the capital city of Andhra Pradesh with the capital city of Karnataka, the airlines said in a release here. Additionally, on Sunday, Air India Express launched daily direct flights between Hyderabad and Guwahati. On the launch of the new daily direct service from Vijayawada, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, stated, “Direct flights like these not only simplify travel for professionals, students and tourists but also contribute to the economic growth of Vijayawada and adjoining regions. I congratulate Air India Express on its continuous efforts to improve connectivity from tier 2 and tier 3 cities.” Commenting on the introduction of the new route, Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, said, "We now connect the city to two key domestic destinations — Bengaluru and Hyderabad — as well as one international destination, Sharjah.
