Hyderabad, Feb 10 (Reporter) Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has strongly condemned the attack on Chilkur Balaji Temple Chief Priest CS Rangarajan, describing it as an attack on the protection of Dharma rather than just an individual incident.
In a statement issued on Monday, Pawan Kalyan expressed deep sorrow over the incident, calling it unfortunate. "I am deeply saddened to learn that a mob attacked the chief priest of the famous Balaji temple in Chilkur, Rangarajan. This is an unfortunate incident, and I strongly condemn this attack," he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasised that Rangarajan has dedicated several decades to safeguarding the heritage, traditions, and sanctity of temples.
He urged law enforcement authorities to investigate the reasons behind the attack, allegedly carried out by members of an organisation called Rama Rajyam.
"The person leading that mob should be identified and punished severely. The Telangana state government should take this attack seriously," he asserted.
Highlighting Rangarajan’s contributions, Pawan Kalyan noted that the priest had provided valuable guidance on protecting Sanatana Dharma. He mentioned that Rangarajan had advised him on the appropriate timing to initiate a program called the Temple Movement and praised his commitment to Hindu temple management and Dharma protection.
The Deputy Chief Minister called on the public to condemn the attack and assured Rangarajan of his full support. "I have directed the Telangana unit of the Jana Sena Party to visit Chilkur, meet Sri Rangarajan, and assure him of our unwavering support," he added.
