AP Minister reviews arrangements for visit of Prime Minister

Visakhapatnam, Jan 5 (Reporter) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, Information Technology (IT), and Electronics Nara Lokesh reviewed the arrangements, being made for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, here on Sunday. Talking to the media on the occasion, Minister Lokesh said that during Modi's visit to Visakhapatnam on January 8, a one km-long road show would be conducted after which the Prime Minister would lay the foundation for various developmental projects. Stating that the TDP-led NDA Government's objective is ‘one State-one Capital’ and de-centralization of development, Lokesh asserted that as part of this programme about five projects are being launched including laying the foundation for the bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli, he said and announced that a ‘Green Energy Plant’ of the NTPC is being established in North Andhra with an investment of Rs 70,000 crore. “The Centre has sanctioned KRIS City on Chennai-Visakhapatnam industrial corridor and also allocated funds,” Lokesh disclosed and stated that lakhs of people will get employment with this node. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for this, he added. “The State Government is going to take up various projects with an investment of Rs 5,000 crore and also construct different National Highways while the Prime Minister will inaugurate the projects which have already been completed,” Lokesh revealed. Observing that the Railway Zone is the dream of everyone in the region, Lokesh said that the people in North Andhra want the headquarters to be located in Visakhapatnam. This is getting delayed because the previous YSRCP government did not allocate land for the setting up of the railway zone, the Minister for Education noted. “Since necessary land has been allotted now by the NDA Government, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for building the railway zone headquarters here,” he acknowledged, adding that the Prime Minister will lay the stone for various other railway-related works on the day. Maintaining that the TDP-led NDA Government is making every effort for the comprehensive development of the State, Lokesh appealed to the people to make the public meeting to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the day a success. Since the State is now facing a deep financial crisis, Central assistance is needed; Lokesh said, making it clear that the Centre has already allotted Rs 2,000 crore for the Polavaram irrigation project while Rs 900 crore is released for the rehabilitation of the displaced...////...
