AP taking up all necessary initiatives to attain SDGs: Governor

Itanagar, Sep 13 (Reporter) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik on Friday said that the state is taking up all necessary initiatives to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Interacting with the students of Gujarat’s Gandhinagar-based Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) at Raj Bhavan here, the Governor highlighted the status and challenges of the state in the education, health, infrastructure, and tourism sectors. The RRU students, who are on a fortnight-long tour to Arunachal Pradesh, have visited the vibrant border village of Zemithang in Tawang district. They shared their experiences of visiting various vibrant villages in the Tawang sector with the governor. During his interaction with the students, the governor said that Arunachal Pradesh is the largest state in the Northeast region, having huge natural resources and one of the most nationalistic people. He said that the state is progressing as large numbers of infrastructure projects are in different stages of completion. The Governor, while commending the RRU and the ITBP force for the students’ tour, called for more student exchange program with states, which are developed in IT and MSME sectors. He said that such action will open avenues for entrepreneurship and startups, create awareness about Arunachal Pradesh amongst the youth, and strengthen goodwill. He exhorted the students from RRU to prepare themselves for the future responsibility as they are the future leaders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, he said, adding that the present leadership is propelling it, but it will be the youth of the day, who will be realizing it. Earlier, ITBP North East Frontier Headquarters DIG Shendil Kumar, Commandant Devansh Trivedi, TM (Retd), School of Internal Security and SMART Policing, and Latika Grover, a member of the faculty, briefed the Governor about the border state tour event. A total of 24 students of Bachelor of Arts in Security Management (BASM) and Master of Arts in Police Administration (MAPA) from RRU, Gandhinagar, and RRU, Pasighat campus, along with four faculty members, participated in the interaction program.
