Vijayawada, Oct 20 (Reporter) The holiday trip of engineering college students ended on a tragic note as two students were drowned in a quarry pit at Madalavarigudem village in Gannavaram mandal, near here, on Sunday. Police said that seven BTech final-year students of a private engineering college went to the village to enjoy the Sunday holiday. Some of them entered a quarry pit for a bath. Two of them slipped and drowned. The bodies were fished out and the deceased students were identified as Pagadala Durga Prasad (22) and Jaggaraju Venkatesh Raju (22). The bodies were shifted to the GGH in Gannavaram for postmortem. Large number of parents and college students rushed to Madalavarigudem village, where the incident took place.
