Kakinada, Dec 13 (Reporter) The YSRCP activists on Friday took out a rally from the zilla parishad centre and later staged a 'dharna' (sit-in) in front of the collectorate here to protest against the alleged failure of the present Alliance government in solving the farmers' problems. The party leaders and activits raised slogans denouncing the government for leaving the farmers to their fate, denying them minimum support price to their paddy produce. Addressing the demonstrators, former minister and YSRCP Kakinada district president Kurasala Kannababu blamed the Chief Minister Chandrababu for letting down the farmers. In the past, Chandrababu came to power making false promises of loan waiver to them but after coming to power, he forgot the same. Later, when the YSRCP government gave Rs 13,500 Ryhtu Bharosa, Chandrababu again made false promises now of giving of Rs 20,000 as Annadatha Sukhibhava. Even after six months, Chandrababu has not made any statement benefiting the farmers nor given even the input subsidy. Furthermore, e-crop system was dispensed with, he alleged. In these circumstances, YSRCP now stands with the farmers in their support, he said and assured that they would highlight the Alliance government’s failures especially on its paddy policy. "Not even 10 percent of the paddy was being purchased. We are raising our voice against the anti-farmer policies of Alliance government," he added. Ex-MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy, MLC Anantha Udaya Bhaskar, former minister Dadisetti Raja, Nagulapalli Dhanalakahsmi, former minister Mudragada Padmanabham, Davuluri Dorababu, Thota Ramjee, Polasapalli Saroja, Sunkara Siva Prasanna, Jammalamadaka Nagamani, Makineedi Seshukumary, Anguri Lakshmi Sivakumary were among those participated in the 'dharna'.
