Mumbai, July 25 (Reporter) The heavy rains are continuing lashing in Mumbai, Pune, Raigad areas in Maharashtra, the Army and Navy units are ready to provide assistance in state, said Chief minister Eknath Shinde here on Thursday.
The administration, concerned officials and staff are on the field and rescue work is going on fast in the places where flood like situation is happening, said Chief minister Shinde said there is no reason to worry but appeal to the citizens to not come out from their houses if it not necessary.
The Chief Minister also said that NDRF, SDRF Army, Navy, Police, Fire Brigade, Health system have been directed to coordinate with each other and help as required.
The instructions have been given to rescue team work to move the flood affected people safely place and provide them with food packets, arrange medicine and water.

Chief Minister further said that Pune, Maval, Mulshi have also received heavy rainfall in the dam area, Pune has been affected more. There is also heavy rain in Mumbai city and suburbs and our administration is fully alert to deal with any calamity in Mumbai, he added. " i am in touch with Pune, Raigad, Mumbai Collector and Municipal Commissioner and coordinating the flood situation", said Shinde.
I have spoken to the army and navy officials related to Pune. Wherever people are trapped, helicopters have been asked to see how they can be rescued them, he said.
In Mumbai, the work of removing the stored water in Kurla, Ghatkopar is going on. 255 pumps are running in Mumbai. The Chief Minister also said that I have directed the Mumbai Municipal Commissioner to make the entire system work.
Central Western and Harbor Railway systems have been kept on standby due to increased rain in Mumbai. Schools and colleges have been declared holiday in rain and flood prone areas, I appeal to citizens not to panic, said Chief minister.
