Itanagar, Oct 23 (Reporter) Toeing the lines of the Centre, the Arunachal Pradesh Government on Wednesday raised the dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) by 3 percent for its 68,818 regular employees and pensioners, effective from July 1.
“Happy to share that our government has enhanced Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) by 3%, effective from July 1, 2024,” Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu posted on social media platform X.
“This decision, aligned with the Central Government’s policy, will benefit State Government employees, All India Service Officers serving in Arunachal Pradesh, Central Government employees on deputation here, as well as pensioners and their families,” Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said in a social media post.
With this revision, the DA and DR will now rise from the existing 50% to 53%, offering greater financial support, he said.
Additionally, the house rent allowance (HRA) has been enhanced to 30%, 20%, and 10% for X, Y, and Z category towns, further easing the cost of living for its employees.
The total financial implication of this decision, covering the period from July 2024 to March 2025, is estimated at Rs 63.92 crore, the Deputy CM said.
