Itanagar, June 15 (Reporter) Security forces on Saturday arrested two hardcore cadres of the Naga militant group, NSCN(IM), in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh and recovered one 9mm pistol and 4 mobile phones from their possession. The arrestees identified as self-styled (SS) Lt Khunliam Sumpa and SS L/Corporal Jenlong Sopong aka Jenlong Wakthom were allegedly involved in extortion activities in Khonsa town of Tirap during the recently concluded general elections to Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assembly, sources said. They were apprehended by the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles. “Apprehension of the two cadres goes a long way in forging a bond between Security forces and local population apart from maintaining peace in the sensitive Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh,” AR sources said...////...
