ASI to resume repair work on Ratna Bhandar of Sri Jagannath Temple

Puri, Jan 2 (Reporter) The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will resume repairs and conservation work on the Ratna Bhandar of the Sri Jagannath Temple on Friday, adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP), according to temple sources. The repair work will begin after the offering of Madhyahna Dhupa, in the presence of authorized persons, and will continue until 5:30 PM. Devotees will be allowed to view the deities from Baharkath during the repair work, temple sources said. Meanwhile, the regular entry of devotees to the Sri Jagannath Temple through all four doors was resumed on Thursday. Last night, the temple doors were closed at around 12:30 AM and opened at 3:40 AM. The priests performed the daily rituals of the Trinity, beginning with Mangal Arati, Mailum, Tadap Lagi, Abakash, Rosahoma, Surya, and Dwarpal puja, followed by the offering of Pahili Bhog along with the regular Gopal Bhog. On Wednesday, the collection from the temple Hundi exceeded Rs. 10 lakh, according to a temple release. Additionally, bundles of cash, along with some gold and silver ornaments, were found in the Hundi.
