Barpeta, Feb 29 (Reporter) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday inaugurated, laid the foundations, and performed the bhumi pujan of a number of projects worth Rs. 624 crore for Barpeta district at a function held at Barpta. Speaking on the occasion, Sarma said that over the next 15 days, as a part of the Bikash Yatra, projects worth Rs. 50,000 crore would either be given shape or would be started across the state, taking the development of Assam to a greater height. He said that the projects that witnessed either foundation, bhumi pujan, or dedication involving Rs. 624 crore in Barpeta would transform the district into a major industrial hub. He said that the projects would greatly enhance the infrastructure of Barpeta district, including its roads, health, drinking water, and sports.
