Imphal, Jan 12 (Reporter) A temporary camp of Assam Rifles has been pulled down in Manipur's Kamjong district, a legislator said on Sunday. Assam Rifles personnel resorted to firing to control the mob in Hongbei village on Saturday. However. no one was injured. The confrontation began between the villagers and Assam Rifles personnel when the troopers stopped vehicles carrying wood on Saturday. The villagers said the wood was for the construction of houses. The local MLA Leishiyo Keishing reached the area after the attack on the camp and held talks with Assam Rifles personnel. However, there was no resolution to the confrontation. Leishiyo said it's the Forest department's duty to check the movement of wood, not that of the Assam Rifles. The situation was still tense as the villagers were still present in the area...////...
