Mumbai, Oct 21(Reporter) A local court here on Monday extended the police custody of four prime accused in NCP leader Baba Siddique's murder case to October 25.
The four accused are Gurmail Singh, Dharmaraj Kashyap, Pravin Lonkar and Harish Kumar.
Moving the remand application for extending the police custody of the accused, the counsel for the police said none of the four arrestees are cooperating with the investigation agency, and are misleading the probe.
Police have so far arrested 10 accused in the sensational case.
Two of the accused Gurmail Singh, a native of Haryana, and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh, had been in Mumbai and were keeping a close eye on Siddique.
According to police reports, Pravin Lonkar's brother, Shubham, is allegedly linked to the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
On October 12, Siddique was shot multiple times by three men as he exited his office in Bandra (West), Mumbai. Despite being rushed to Lilavati Hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A case has been filed at Nirmal Nagar Police Station detailing various charges including murder, criminal conspiracy and common intention under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as provisions of the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act.
Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating the case and has formed five teams to probe the matter...////...
