Hyderabad, Dec 19 (Reporter) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticised the Congress and BRS governments for pushing Telangana into a debt crisis. In a statement issued here on Thursday, he pointed out that the BRS government had accumulated a debt of Rs 6.71 lakh crore over its ten-year rule, while the Congress government had incurred over Rs 1.27 lakh crore in just one year. Together, these debts amount to Rs 8 lakh crore, leaving the state in financial ruin, according to Sanjay Kumar. He lamented that Telangana, once a prosperous state, now finds itself taking new loans just to pay the interest on existing debts. The Union Minister also accused the Congress government of reneging on its electoral promises, using the state’s financial situation as an excuse. He claimed that Congress and BRS leaders were burdening the people with taxes while prioritising vote-bank politics and selfish interests, rather than addressing the state’s economic challenges. Sanjay Kumar warned that the Congress government could surpass BRS in borrowing, leading Telangana into a deeper financial crisis and imposing unbearable taxes on the people. He urged intellectuals, public representatives, and activists to join the BJP's efforts to prevent further debt accumulation and press the state government to fulfill its promises under the six guarantees. The BJP plans to intensify its movements under the leadership of BJP State President, Kishan Reddy, after Sankranti to raise awareness about the state’s mounting debt crisis...////...
