Karimnagar (Telangana), Jan 19 (Reporter) BJP National General Secretary and Member of Parliament, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has appealed to the Telangana state government to declare January 22 as a public holiday in anticipation of the re-consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir scheduled to take place in Ayodhya.
Sanjay Kumar emphasised the global significance of the event and encouraged everyone to actively participate in the sacred occasion.
During his visit to Ellanthakunta in the Huzurabad Constituency this afternoon, Bandi Sanjay Kumar paid a visit to the renowned Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple, receiving blessings from the temple Pandits.
Subsequently, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, accompanied by BJP district president Krishna Reddy and party workers, engaged in a cleanliness drive around the Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple. Using brooms and spades, they removed unwanted plants that had grown around the temple, ensuring the area was free of debris.
Addressing the media on this occasion, Bandi Sanjay mentioned that their efforts align with the call from Prime Minister Modi and National President JP Nadda to clean and maintain temples. Expressing his satisfaction in participating in the cleanup of the surroundings of the Ellanthakunta Sitaram Chandra Swamy temple, he stressed the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining religious spaces.
Highlighting the upcoming Prana Pratishta ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram, featuring the installation of the Adarsh Ram's statue on January 22, Bandi Sanjay urged the state government to declare a public holiday, acknowledging the widespread interest in witnessing the event among the people of Telangana.
He noted that people from various backgrounds and political affiliations are voluntarily engaging in the Deudi Akshintala programme, with Telangana leading in the collection of funds for the construction of the Ram Mandir.
Responding to media queries about criticism from Congress leaders referring to Ayodhya Akshintalu as ration rice, Bandi Sanjay defended the sanctity of the event, stating, "Ration Rice, Basmati Rice, and Jai Shri Ram Rice are not available in Akshintalu. It is inappropriate for Congress leaders to distort the sacred principles of God by labelling them as rationed rice. We are willing to provide Basmati rice if requested by Congress leaders...////...
