Agartala, Jan 22 (Reporter) In a predawn operation on Wednesday, city police apprehended a Bangladeshi national from a rented house in Agartala’s Milan Chakra area, where he had been residing for the past six months hiding his identity. Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) D P Roy said acting on a tip-off, police from A D Nagar station raided a house in Adarshapalli locality and detained one Shamajprio Chakma, a resident of Khagrachari district of Southern Bangladesh and seized arms and ammunition. “Based on the information, we conducted a raid in the Milan Chakra area and detained Chakma who hails from Bangladesh, and a 9 mm pistol, two cartridges, Rs 2 lakh in Indian currency, and 25,000 Bangladeshi taka were recovered from his possession,” Roy said.
