Kolkata, Oct 7 (Reporter) At least 5 people were killed and around four injured when detonators stacked with explosives in a truck went off during unloading in West Bengal's Birbhum district, police and eyewitnesses said.
The blasting happened at Lokpur near Bhadulia close to an abandoned coal mine around 1030 AM when the laborers were unloading explosives triggering the huge explosion that killed at least five and injured around four people.
Eyewitnesses said the bodies of the labourers split into pieces and littered around 500 meters radius from the scene of the blast. The truck, which was laden with explosives, also split and its roof went off.
The local people said they had seen split bodies of five people and 3 to 4 wounded people taken away from the scene , which is almost a barren land and not inhabited.
Identity of the victims was not known so far.
Police began an investigation even as there were no trace of any people who got the explosive-laden truck...////...
