Kolkata, Jan 23 (Reporter) West Bengal joined the rest of India to celebrate the Parakram Diwas to honour the legacy of patriot Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 128th birthday on Thursday.
Besides hundreds of Netaji's birth anniversary programs are being celebrated in all sections of society and club level.
The state government has organised its official celebration on Red Road in the city where a life-size statue of Netaji has been installed.
State Minister Indranil Sen put a garland around the statue where senior Minister Firhad Hakim was also present.
Hakim also paid floral tribute to Netaji at Nabanna, the state secretariat.
Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari also paid his respect to Netaji on the Red Road and marched along with his followers to mark the occasion.
" I paid floral tributes to Bharat Mata's brave Son and architect of Indian freedom movement; Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 128th birth anniversary at Red Road," Adhikari said.
" I bow down to pay my respects to the Greatest Freedom Fighter of India; Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 128th Birth Anniversary," he said on his social network platform...////...
