Bengal Guv likely to visit Murshidabad Friday despite CM's request to postpone trip

Kolkata, Apr 17 (Reporter) West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose is likely to visit troubled Murshidabad on Friday, even after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee requested Raj Bhavan to postpone his visit for a few more days, official sources said. " I will certainly visit Murshidabad. I will go to the field to see for myself the realities," Bose told reporters at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. Bose said e has an objective view on the matter, as the situation was brought under control there. "I will have an objective view of the matter. The situation has been brought under control. We should take further steps to prevent similar occurrences in the future. "People from the area have requested a BSF camp be set up there," Bose told reporters after meeting a group of victims of the violence, accompanied by Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar. "A delegation of displaced and aggrieved women from Murshidabad, called on HG today afternoon and narrated their plight," a Raj Bhavan communique said. It said Bose has given an assurance that appropriate steps are being taken to ensure the situation returns to normalcy," a Raj Bhavan media cell Twitter handle said. Earlier in the day, Banerjee urged Bose to postpone his visit to Murshidabad by a few more days. "I would appeal to the governor to wait for a few more days, as confidence-building measures are underway. The situation is normalising," Banerjee told reporters at Nabanna, the state secretariat, when asked about Bose's proposed visit.
