Kolkata, Feb 27 (Reporter) Indian Secular Front (ISF) chairperson Naushad Siddique (MLA), who was arrested on Tuesday morning from this city on his way to Sandeshkhali was released on Tuesday evening, official sources said.
The city police stopped his vehicle from the Science City area in south Kolkata and then took him into a prison van for Lalbazar.
A senior police officer said Siddique was rounded up (preventive arrest) because the law enforcing agency was apprehending law and order problems in Sandeshkhali, ( North 24 Parganas) where many areas have been under Section 144 CrPc.
Thirty-one-year-old chairman of the Indian Secular Front Pirzada Mohammad Naushad Siddique, after being released said he would make again to visit Sandeshkhali, some 74 kms from here to meet the local people, who have been were subjected to torture and lost lands to the local muslemen, who have been allegedly support both from the ruling TMC and the police. "I am wrongfully arrested as I already informed the DGP my itinerary to visit Basanti and Sandeshkhali", the lone ISF MLA told reporters. He also warned to move into the court of law against the police official, who prevented him from going and curtailing the movement of a free citizen...////...
