Kolkata, Aug 17 (Reporter) The CBI on Saturday intensified its Calcutta High Court-monitored probe in the rape and murder of a young lady doctor at her working place of RG Kar Hospital, while barring the emergency services, the ongoing cease work at the OPDs in all the hospitals by the medics entered the 9th day, official sources said. The Central Bureau of Investigation summoned ousted RG Kar's hospital's Sandip Ghosh forthe 2nd day to quiz him regarding his role as head after knowing the crime on August 9 and before and after where the medics have launched protest agitation and vandalism in the hospital in the midnight on eve of independence day and renovation work close to icrime spot on the 3rd floor at the chest department seminar room where he went to rest after working nearly 36 hours, sources said. Whilst a team of CBI was interrogating Ghosh since 10 am, another team along with forensic experts visited the hospital with CD scanner where the crime was committed and another team went to Bidhannagar Police Barrack of the 4th Battalion, where arrested suspect - Sanjay Roy - allegedly came out from the barrack in the night and returned there at Salt Lake area. The CBI on Friday quizzed Ghosh for more than 10 hours and let go at midnight and summoned afesh this morning for the 2nd time quiz, sources said. Hundreds of Congress activists half naked ( no shirt ) marched from NRS Hospital to Calcutta Medical Hospital in central part of the city demanding justice and immediate resignation of chief minister Mamata Banerjee. " We are agash to witness that the chief minister being the head of the administration herself on the streets ( Friday) demanding justice and hang the accused then where the common people would go and ask for justice," said a Congress leader. " Her ploy to hoodwink the commoners is now open and she must quit the chief ministerial post," he added. BJP's state president Sukanta Majundar said he has confidence with the court and CBI to come to the truth and the conspirators to be arrested in the course of the investigation. Majumdar in a post said " The shocking demand for the execution of the victim of RG Kar Medical College & Hospital by West Bengal's CM reveals her unstable mindset and lack of seriousness. It also exposes her hidden intent to protect the culprits and mislead the investigation," He also said in another post that " The current Kolkata Police Commissioner, ( Vinit Goyal) under whose watch Kolkata Horror is unfolding, was IGP of state CID during the Kamduni gangrape. In Kamduni, 8 men brutally gangraped and murdered a girl," Former BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly on Saturday described the crime as " terrible things and shameful what has happened," in the rape and murder of the young medic. He said the crime not only rocked the country but the whole world and the culprit must be given exemplary punishment. Kolkata Police from Lalbazar summoned seven SFI and DYFI activists in the vandalism case either to appear today or tomorrow. The summon included DYFI chief Meenakshi Mukherjee, who were on a sit-in demonstration opposite the footpath of the RG Kar Hospital.
