Kolkata, Feb 18 (Reporter) Riding on a dominant all-round performance, Bengal outclassed Bihar by an innings and 204 runs to end their Ranji Trophy campaign here at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. The star performers from the match were Abhimanyu Easwaran, who smashed an unbeaten 200 while Mukesh Kumar (4-18, 6-32) also joined the party bagging an impressive 10 wickets in the match to win it for the hosts in just little over two days. A special mention must be made of Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (4-47, 4-34) who has been the find of the season for the Laxmi Ratan Shukla-coached side. The young pacer provided fine support to Mukesh at the other end by claiming eight wickets in the match. Earlier, after bowling out Bihar for just 95 in their first innings, Bengal posted a massive 411/5 decl to take a huge 316-run lead. With a mountain to climb in their second innings, Bihar, failed to put up a fight against a quality Bengal bowling attack and were bundled out for just 112 in 35.1 overs inside the first session of the third day's play. Resuming the day from overnight score of 32/1, the visiting batters were faced with a tall task. Not letting any batsmen settle in, Mukesh and Suraj ripped through the Bihar middle and lower order in no time. The visitors managed to add only 80 runs in the morning while losing nine wickets. Bengal, the last season's runners-up, thus finish their campaign this time with 19 points from seven games having won two, drawn three and lost two...////...
