Bengal: TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh's CBI custody extended by 4 days

Kolkata, Mar 10 (Reporter) The CBI custody of suspended TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh, arrested in connection with attacks on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in West Bengal's Sandeshkhali, was extended by another four days by a district and session court on Sunday.. Sheikh was arrested by the police on February 29 under Nazat police station on the charge of orchestrating attacks on the ED officials when the the latter had gone to conduct a search operation at his Sarberia home on January 5 concerning the alleged ration scam. The CBI got the custody of the prime accused in cases of sexual harassment on women and land grabbing, on March 6 following a Calcutta High Court order. Basirhat District and Session Court sources said CBI got afresh four days of custody of Shahjahan after the accused was produced before the judge by the federal agency...////...
