Bengaluru, June 1 (Reporter) The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court here on Saturday granted bail to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar in connection with a defamation case filed by the BJP.
The BJP alleges that the Congress leaders disseminated false advertisements targeting BJP leaders, including the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar appeared in person before the 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate today. After hearing their plea, the court decided to grant bail to both leaders.
Following the court appearance, Siddaramaiah stated, "I appeared before the judge as a legal guardian. I have got bail. A private complaint was filed against me, KPCC president DK Shivakumar, and Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi will also appear in court."
Addressing the ongoing Valmiki Corporation scam, the Chief Miniser added, "There is no question of protecting anyone. Legal action will be taken against whoever is found guilty in the investigation. An SIT has been formed, and the investigation is progressing rapidly...////...
