Bihar CM inaugurates sports university at Rajgir

Patna, Aug 29 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated sports University and state Sports Academy in Rajgir of Nalanda District on Thursday. After inaugurating and inspecting the sports University and sports academy on the occasion of National Sports day, the Chief Minister directed the authorities concerned to complete the rest of the construction work at the earliest. He also asked the authorities to maintain the quality of the construction work. Kumar inspected the under construction international cricket stadium and directed to complete the construction at an accelerated pace. Nitish honoured 9 international medal winners of the state in the field of sports. On the occasion of National Sports Day, medal winners/participating players/coaches in Olympic Games, Asian Games, Senior Asian Championship were honoured. Those honoured include Arjuna Awardee Shreyasi Singh, Akash Kumar participant in fencing at Asian Games 2022, Sudhanshu Shekhar participant in sailing at Asian Games 2022, Sweta Shahi participant in rugby Asian Games - 2022, Md. Shams Alam Shaikh participant in para swimming Senior Asian Games Championship - 2024, Lawn Bowls gold medalist Chandan Kumar Singh and Senior Asian Championship - 2024 Para Cycling participant Md. Jalaluddin Ansari. During his visit, Kumar offered tribute to the renowned Hockey player Padma Bhushan Major Dhyanchand. The Chief Minister also inspected the under construction Jarasandh Memorial and the Museum and asked the officers to put the inscriptions in both Hindi and English languages...////...
