Darbhanga (Bihar), 27 May (Reporter) Raids are underway in the dry state of Bihar on Monday after 810 liters of Nepali liquor was seized from near a dam in Darbhanga district just days ahead of the final phase of Lok Sabha elections.
A total of 2,700 packs of 300 ml each of country liquor made in Nepal were recovered in a raid following a tip off, said Senior Superintendent of Police S Jagunnath Reddy Jalareddy on Monday.
Information was received about “a consignment of liquor unloaded in a garden below the dam of Kamala Balan river near Rajakharbar village of Sakatpur police”, the SSP said.
The raid was conducted below the dam of Kamla Balan river this morning, he added.
Efforts were underway to arrest the person who owned the seized liquor.
More raids were underway in Manoratha, Hawasa and the garden of Lavali village of Ashok Paper Mill police station area of Sadar sub-division where information about country liquors being manufactured and sold in large quantities was with the police...////...
