Patna, July 8 (Reporter) Taking serious note the rising water level in all prominent rivers, including Kosi and Gandak, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday directed the authorities to remain alert round-the-clock and be prepared to meet any situation.
After an aerial survey of the Gandak barrage and the increasing water level of rivers in West Champaran, East Champaran and Gopalganj, Kumar asked the water resources department to monitor the situation continuously
He asked the authorities to keep flood relief materials on standby, especially, polythene sheets, medicines, fodder, dry fruits, food packets.
He asked the officers to ensure plying of boats and directed them to establish flood shelters...////...
