Bihar: RLJP extends support to BPSC aspirants, condemns lathi charge

Patna, Dec 31 (Reporter) Support from political parties for BPSC aspirants demanding the re-conducting of the preliminary test earlier held on December 13, increased further as RLJP on Tuesday expressed solidarity with them and also condemned lathi charge on students. National spokesman of RLJP Shrawan Agarwal told media persons here that his party strongly condemned the lathi charge on BPSC aspirants on Sunday evening near Gandhi Maidan in Patna. It was most barbaric as police also used water canons to disperse students from the venue in the winter season, he added. Agrawal said that there were so many irregularities in the preliminary test conducted by BPSC on December 13 and there was no reason for the government to delay in announcing the re-conducting of the test. It was pathetic to note that rather than accepting the genuine demands of BPSC aspirants, the administration was using force to discourage them and suppress their voice on directives from their political masters he noted. The RLJP leader said that no examination in Bihar was being conducted without any irregularity and unfair means. Nitish Kumar's government had jeopardised the future of lakhs of students due to mismanagement in conducting examinations, he pointed out. Agrawal said that students were future of the state and this important fact was being ignored by the present regime. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should himself look into the issues and order for re-conducting the test without any further delay, he suggested. As it is, Congress, RJD, CPI, CPI(ML), CPI(M) and Jan Suraaj have already extended their support to BPSC aspirants.
