Bengaluru, Sep 25 (Reporter) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, urging for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into MUDA scam involving him.
"The Chief Minister must resign. The CBI must conduct a probe, and the CM must order a CBI investigation," he stated. He criticised the Mysuru Lokayukta's ability to conduct a fair investigation, declaring, "An investigation by Mysuru Lokayukta is impossible. We will hold a protest at the Vidhana Soudha premises tomorrow."
The controversy stems from ongoing allegations that have garnered public and political attention.
Activist Snehamayi Krishna, one of the petitioners in the matter, echoed similar sentiments, stating, "The Court has mandated a Lokayukta investigation, but we will approach the Karnataka High Court since we want the investigation to happen by the CBI only. Once the FIR is filed, we will approach the Karnataka High Court."
Advocate Laxmi Ayengar, representing Krishna, expressed hope that the Lokayukta would be transparent and fair in the investigation, adding that if that were the case, truth would prevail.
