Puri, Sep 19(Reporter) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday announced the fulfillment of electoral promises within a hundred days of his government.
Addressing a huge gathering of BJP activists and leaders on the completion of the hundred days of BJP government in Odisha, Majhi said all four doors of Sri Jagannath temple were opened the next day of the formation of the new BJP government.
The Ratna Bhandar of Sri Jagannath Temple was opened after 46 years and Rs.500 crore has been allocated for the Sri Mandir corpus fund,he said
A state-level grand celebration was organised at Puri Saradhabali ground on Thursday to mark the one-hundred day of the new BJP government in the state.
Deputy Chief Ministers Pravati Parida, and Kanak Vardhan Singh Dev, besides almost all his cabinet colleagues, and parliament members participated in the celebration.
The Chief Minister further said we have resolved to increase the MSP for paddy to Rs.3100, and launched CM Kissan Samman Yojana, the first phase in which Rs.2000 per farmer was released to 46 lakh farmers.
Majhi said about one crore women will benefit from Subhadra Yajna and in the first phase the first installment was transferred to the accounts of 25 lakh women in the state.
The Chief Minister said Rs.200 crore has been allocated for the Odia Asmita corpus fund and persons with eighty percent disability and above eighty years of age will get a Rs.3500 monthly pension.
The compensation for accidental death of construction workers, he said, has been increased from Rs.4 lakh to Rs.6 lakh while for normal death the compensation has been hiked from Rs 2 lakh to Rs.3 lakh.
To mitigate school dropout of tribal students, Majhi said Rs.5000 rupees will be given per annum to students as pocket expenses under the Madho Singh Yojana.
The Chief Minister further said his government will work to promote Odia Asmita and Odia language which was grossly neglected by the previous BJD government.
The Chief Minister grievance cell will be opened in several parts of the state, Majhi announced.
The BJP government , he said, prioritizes people’s interests and works for them which is an integral part of the democracy.
The BJD government,Majhi, allegedly tried to use Lord Jagannath for votes in the last election.
The Ministers of various departments also highlighted the progress in these hundred days of governance.
The state cabinet has approved an investment of Rs.45,000 crores, establishment of cold storages in every subdivision, proposals to open 16 MSME, four multi-model parks and FDI parks in the state,the Chief Minister said.
He further said three thousand doctors including paramedics will be appointed soon .
The others who addressed the meeting were Deputy Chief Ministers Pravati Parida and K V Singh Deo, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, BJP state President Manamohan Samal and local MP Sambit Patra
The Chief Minister later inaugurated the Bikash Mela at the Urban Hat and went to Sri Jagannath temple and offered prayers.
