Bengaluru, June 1 (Reporter) Amidst mounting allegations of fund misappropriation in the Maharshi Valmiki Corporation scam, BJP leader CT Ravi has escalated calls for a comprehensive investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Ravi underscored the necessity of a CBI inquiry to fully uncover what he described as a multi-state scam. "The inquiry should be given to the CBI. Everything would be out in the open. It is a multi-state scam, why is it not given to the CBI?" Ravi questioned, expressing reservations about the efficacy of the current investigative mechanisms.
The BJP leader cast doubts on the ability of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct an impartial inquiry across states. "Can the SIT go to Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu and conduct a free inquiry? The CBI can do that," Ravi asserted, emphasizing the need for a more extensive and capable investigative body, here on Saturday.
Ravi also criticized the state government's response to the alleged misuse of SC/ST funds, highlighting the misappropriation of Rs. 187 crores. "Even after the misuse of the SC/ST fund, the government says that it is not that serious. They don't think it is serious even after the misuse of Rs. 187 crores," Ravi stated.
Demanding accountability, Ravi called for the resignation of Minister B Nagendra, alleging the possible involvement of influential figures in the scandal. "Minister B Nagendra should resign. I think huge names are behind this scam," he asserted.
Implicating Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Ravi suggested that the scam had occurred with his tacit approval. "It has all happened under the blessing of the CM," he alleged.
Ravi announced plans for a protest scheduled after June 6, aimed at demanding the minister's resignation and a CBI-led inquiry into the matter. His statements have heightened political tensions surrounding the Valmiki Corporation scam, increasing pressure on the state government to address the allegations promptly and ensure transparency and accountability...////...
