Mumbai, Apr 4 (Reporter) Archana Patil, wife of BJP MLA of Tuljapur Rana Jagjitsinh Patil, on Thursday officially joined Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party here. Soon after she joined the party, NCP state president Sunil Tatkare announced her candidature for the Osmanabad Lok Sabha constituency. Ajit Pawar's NCP was given the Dharashiv Lok Sabha seat by the Shiv Sena-BJP after it ceded the Parbhani seat to the Rashtriya Samaj Party (RSP). Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena has re-nominated sitting MP Omraje Nimbalkar from Osmanabad. Consequently, there will be a direct fight between Omraje Nimbalkar and Archana Patil in Osmanabad. Notably, in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Shiv Sena's Nimbalkar had defeated Rana Patil, who then contested elections on NCP ticket.
